Run 10k To Help Tackle Blood Cancers & Disorders

LIBRA

LIBRA supporters are encouraging runners to sign up for this year’s East Grinstead 10K (EG10k) on Sunday 1st October 2023, to help raise sponsorship for our Going for Gold Campaign, in aid of the Haematology Department at King’s, with a target of £300,000.

Organised and supported by the East Grinstead Lions, volunteers from East Grinstead Triathlon Club and the East Grinstead Athletics Club, the popular event is expected to attract many competitors. The EG10k is a community event organised “for runners, by runners” with proceeds going to East Grinstead Lions and Prostate Cancer UK.

LIBRA supporter and Adur East Lions Club member David Sluys is taking part for the third time and commented: “As the Lions South East District Childhood Cancer officer I am delighted to be taking part in The East Grinstead 10K once again and I am busy raising sponsorship for LIBRA. I enjoyed the 2021 and 2022 events, and I am delighted it is back on the calendar this year!

“I am helping to sign up a group of runners to take part with me on the day and hope to secure more entries. I would like to raise as much as possible for LIBRA, ensuring new and improved treatments for blood cancers and blood disorders can be created.”

The EG10k has been rated the UK’s ‘Best Race for Beginners’ in Runner’s World. The race is a scenic, undulating multi-terrain on good footpaths, bridleways and residential roads. It is suitable for runners of all abilities – everyone is welcome.
