Going for Gold - Lions International Blood Research Appeal

We need your help to raise £300,000 so that LIBRA can support the development of new and improved treatments for blood disorders and blood cancers at King’s College Hospital in London (King’s), while also helping to ensure facilities for patient care are of the highest standards. We have reached 50% of our target, but we need your help to reach our goal!

LIBRA Chairman Andrew Lodge said:

The vital funds will be used by experts at King’s to develop lifesaving therapies for blood cancer patients and those
with blood disorders in the UK and overseas, with some funds being used to cover the cost of vital equipment to ensure first class patient care. LIBRA is the official haematology charity for King’s, so please support our campaign to help make this dream a reality.

The aim of our Going for Gold campaign is to encourage our supporters to get active and raise funds online towards our £300,000 target at the same time, no
matter what your age or ability.

LIBRA supporter Dame Kelly Holmes MBE is inspiring as many people as possible to get involved and said:

You can do amazing things in groups or individually for LIBRA including sponsored marathon runs, 10k runs, walks, quiz nights, bingo, gigs and
all sorts of exciting fundraisers. Come on and take up the challenge and help to save more lives!

Dame Kelly campaigns to raise awareness of blood cancer after losing her mother to myeloma. The double gold medal winner teamed up with LIBRA as she is
encouraging people to provide support so that new lifesaving and life improving blood cancer treatments can be created.
